Teens are seventeen times more likely to be involved in car crashes when they have been drinking. The society Mothers Against Drunk Driving reports that more than 40% of all tenth graders drink alcohol and that kids who start drinking at a young age are seven times more likely to be involved in alcohol-related crashes. The Consumer Federation of America recently released a report comparing insurance rates for upper-income motorists with moderate-income motorists. The report found that GEICO and Progressive penalized moderate and lower-income drivers the worst, while State Firm was found to be the best. A motor vehicle was traveling in Marietta recently, when the driver swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck another vehicle. The resulting collision was so substantial that one of the passengers in the oncoming vehicle died from injuries. An unusual multiple-vehicle accident involving an intoxicated driver occurred recently in Georgia. The incident began when an intoxicated driver struck three vehicles in a parking lot. The driver then drove into an adjacent parking lot. After crossing another curb, the driver struck the base of a light pole, a phone pedestal, and a crosswalk signal. (read more)

At the beginning of September, a woman in Alpharetta drove her automobile through a park and almost struck a group of children playing on a sidewalk.
